The problem may be caused by a screen failure or a short circuit. Please help us by checking the following problems:
1. You should first check if you are using the original accessories. If not, please use the original accessories and then continue to troubleshoot.
2. Remove the GPS module, memory card, and rear camera, then place a pin in the Reset hole on the back of the dash camera to reset it. You can then check whether your dash camera works by connecting the charger to your vehicle and the dash camera.
If the screen works, there may be a problem with one of the accessories. If the screen still freezes, it may be caused by the dash cam or the car charger.
*If there is a problem with one of the accessories, you can try connecting one accessory at a time to the dash camera, then repeat the process above until the problem appears after connecting a certain accessory.
*In case it is caused by the dash camera or car charger, please check whether the dash camera is working properly by connecting it to any power source using a mini USB cable (if you have one). If it works, it may be the car charger that is faulty. In the event the problem persists, please contact us for further assistance.
Q2: The dash camera does not work/reboots repeatedly.

You can check if it is caused by the car charger by doing the following:
1. You should first check if you are using the original accessories. If not, please use the original accessories and then continue to troubleshoot.
2. Remove the GPS module, memory card, and rear camera. You can then check whether your dash camera works by connecting the charger to your vehicle and the dash camera.
3. If you have an extra cable for the rear camera, please connect it to the rear camera and check if the problem still exists. If so, it may be caused by the rear camera. Please contact us for further assistance in this case.
Q3: Why does my dash camera turn off repeatedly/Why can't the dash camera stay on?

Please first go to settings to check if the option of "Auto power off" is disabled. If it's enabled, the dash camera will be turned off within 1 minute.
Secondly, please go to settings to check if you have selected "1 min or 3mins" in the option of "screen saver". if so, the screen will be off after 1 minute or 3 minutes.
0FF: The screen of the dash camera will always stay on.
1 min: The screen of the dash camera will be off after 1 minute but the camera is still working.
3 mins: The screen of the dash camera will be off after 3 minutes but the camera is still working.
If the issue still exists after troubleshooting, it may be a problem with the car charger. Please check whether the dash camera is working properly by connecting it to any power source using a mini USB cable (if you have one).
Q4: What causes the video to be locked so often?

Please go to settings to check if the option of the "G-sensor sensitivity" is set to "High".
We recommend setting this option to "low" as the G-sensor is a feature that locks the video in the event of a collision. As a result, the necessary videos will be saved and won't be overwritten.
Q5: Why does the mirror dash camera drain my car's battery?

1. If you are using the veement hardwire kit (ASIN: XXXXXXXX), please check if both yellow and red cables are connecting to the BATT power supply. If yes, please connect the red cable to the ACC. If you are using a hardwire kit from other brands, there may be a lack of low-power protection causing this problem.
2. If you are using a car charger, please check if your cigarette lighter is BATT. (In the case of BATT, the car charger will remain lit after your car has been turned off, so you can verify accordingly). If your cigarette lighter is BATT, when you turn off your car and leave your car charger plugged in, your car's battery will be drained. If your car charger is unplugged in after parking, or if you use our hardwire kit, this can be avoided.
Q6: While reversing my vehicle, I do not see the reverse line on the dash camera.

Please verify that the red trigger wire of the rear camera kit is properly connected to the reverse light's positive pole. Here is how to check:
A voltage is present on the reverse light when the brakes are applied and the vehicle is in R gear. If there is no voltage on the reverse light when the vehicle is in D gear, that is its positive pole.

Q7: I always see the reverse line on the screen even if I'm not reversing.

Try unplugging the rear camera cable and see if the reverse line disappears. There might be an issue with the cable of the rear camera if the reverse line disappears, so make sure that the cable is properly plugged in.

Q8: The image zooms in or out when reversing, making it impossible for the driver to estimate the distance.

The VU12R is a mirror-mounted dash cam. For better visibility, you will see a compressed image when you reverse your vehicle. You can get a better view by choosing different gears by tapping the icon X in the lower right corner of the screen.
Q9: The image view from the front camera is blurry.

There may be something on the front camera lens. First, make sure the protective film on the lens has been ripped off. Then, wipe the lens with a clean cloth or other material to prevent it from getting dirty.
Q10: The image view from the front camera is skewed.

It is possible to fix this problem by rotating the front camera finely.
